MADRID - Atletico Madrid are close to a deal to take Juventus defender Cristian Molinaro on loan until the end of the season, Atletico president Enrique Cerezo was quoted as saying on Sunday.

"We want to close it (the deal) on Monday or Tuesday," Cerezo told Marca sports daily.

"It's a loan with an option to buy in June once we have seen how he performs," he added. Molinaro, 26, plays at left back and spent two seasons at Serie A club Siena before joining Juve for the 2007/08 campaign.
